Kinkeliba seeds — a scientifically documented composition

The Kinkeliba fruit (Combretum micranthum G. Don) is a four-winged samara about 1.5 cm across. The seeds it contains have a rich nutritional and phytochemical composition, documented by recent scientific studies, notably on West African Combretum species.

A study published on the seeds of the Combretum micranthum species from Burkina Faso reveals a remarkable proximate composition: carbohydrates 57–64%, crude oils 20–22%, protein 12–16%, ash 3.78–6.19%. The seeds are rich in calcium, potassium and magnesium. The plant as a whole has 155 scientifically identified organic compounds, including 34 flavonoids, 16 phenolic acids, 14 alkaloids, 15 fatty acids and 14 terpenoids.

Combretum micranthum has been listed in the French pharmacopoeia since 1937 and in the African pharmacopoeia since 1985. TchadAgriSourcing harvests the seeds in Chad, dries them under controlled protocols and packs them for export. COA provided with every order.
