Hibiscus powder — natural colourant and antioxidant active

Hibiscus powder is obtained by grinding the dried calyces of Hibiscus sabdariffa L. It concentrates all the active compounds found in the whole flowers — anthocyanins, hibiscic acid, citric acid, vitamin C and polyphenols — in a form easily incorporated into liquid or solid industrial formulations.

The anthocyanins responsible for its deep burgundy-red colour are mainly delphinidin-3-glucoside and cyanidin-3-glucoside — two well-documented natural pigments that are alternatives to synthetic colourants. In aqueous solution, hibiscus powder produces a very stable bright-red colour, making it a colourant of choice for drinks, yoghurts and confectionery.

Key advantage of powder vs whole flowers — direct incorporation without a prior extraction step, more precise dosing, faster dissolution, more compact packaging. TchadAgriSourcing grinds the calyces in Chad after controlled drying. Moisture ≤ 12%. COA provided.
